Google Have Struck!!

Zork!! I got a very angry e-mail from the FCC or google or even the "DMCA" ( Digital Millennium Copyright Act) complaining how they have removed the first Sunday Six Post. There was no explanation given regarding this, and they said that our blog has been under surviellance for a while.

The show will go on, for now, unless the DMCA wish to shut us down.

Just remember though kids (and those who are older) that if the DMCA do shut the blog down, they'll never shut our shit taste off though!!

Stay strong

Dirty Pete!

YEAH!

Arrrrrrrr!!!

INDIE!±

Yelle - Qui Est Cette Fille? (Who's That Girl? Robyn Cover)

Perfection! Love French music right now, and Yelle is definately the best I've heard.

Dananananaykroyd - Some Dresses

HAPPY! Progressive! Dancy! Math! A bit like Testicicles if they were mixed with Foals. I know i compare stuff to Foals far too much, but its like the good band i know everyone will know from the scene.

Coeur de pirate - Fondu au noir

French indie. its a bit depressing in parts, but also uplifting in others. VERY nice though.

La Roux - Bulletproof (Foamo Remix)

Sick track. She is a bit odd-looking i decide she's completely hideous, then i decide she is well hot, then i decide she is disgusting, then she's pretty average.

That's about it really.

10.6.09

heavy.

My recent 101 song post was abruptly deleted by an unknown source.

Very annoyed, as it took me atleast a couple of hours.

And due to this it has been about 2 weeks since i have given any music to the world.

Lets get on it.

Deadmau5 - I Remember

Its everywhere. Very mainstream. Outstanding song. Definitely worth all the hype its gettin, unlike a lot of the mainstream stuff right now.

Ratatat, Jay-Z & Notorious B.I.G - Allure

Blew my mind. Ratatat are an incredible band, but i always thought their remixes were their weak point. I then got hold of the Ratatat Remixes mixtape volume 2. Every song blows you away. Sick stuff.

Cagedbaby - Forced (Foamo Remix)

Heavy shit. Just a classic electro banger. Up to the highstandard we expect from Foamo these days.

XO Man - Microwave (Barletta Remix)

Filthy shit!!! Geth this track! Bass heavy shit, bassline hooks, electro riffs, strung together in a very fidget house kinda way.

Little Boots - New In Town

Can't help but love this song. Very catchy chorus.

Crissy Criss - Kick! Snare!

It has finally happened. I like dubstep. This is a HEAVY track. Unfortunately a Radio rip.... sorrrryyyy........ i'm cheap/. By definition, you are too, cos your downloadin songs off my blog.
just like skip the intro and the ending....? =[

Kid Cudi, Kanye, Common & Lady Gaga - Poker Face [Poke her face]

Lady Gaga is very annoying. This song is very good. Who'd have guessed it? A song Definately saved by a group of fairly gangster individuals.

loveeeeeeeeeeeeee

R.I.P. Penny (My Puppy) (A little delayed Sunday Six)

Here is said specimen of Dog... and at 3 months old, she died after not pulling through a fairly routine operration.
I am faairly gutted (not gonna lie) and also quite lost as to now what to do..)

SOOoO, I realised I had not blogged for a decent amount of time, so here comes a post (as you can see)...

First of all this week we start off with a classic

Eye of the Tiger - Survivor (Dirty Disco Youth Interpretation)

This tune has one of the most recognizable riffs of all time, and belongs to a legacy of films which are legendary. This track is perfect to drop in a set midway through, or just to listen to on your iPod (other generic MP3 players are available) to bring a simle to your face.

Walking on a Dream - Emperors of the Sun (Kids at the Bar Remix)
Emperors of the Sun have created a catchy little number in this, and Kids at the Bar, famous for creating a stonkingly phat remix of Technologic, have worked their magic again.

Gauglione 2008 - Ciscko Brothers (Alex Gaudino Remix)
Whilst recently doing photography, I came across Danny Bond DJ'ing in Leeds, at a night called Daft he dropped this beast of a tune. He specifically mentioned that it was the Alex Gaudino Remix that was the best one, and I tend to agree...
It feels like its a song you've heard before, when actually you haven't... its reasonably large.

Hi Fatmau5 - Deadmau5 vs. Fatman Scoop

This shouldnt work at ALL, but it does. Weirdly

Brazil (2nd Edit) - Deadmau5
This song is one ofthose beautiful songs that can make you feel better whenever your down. It helped me with Penny's death, although I've still not really got round to realising that she is dead. Brazil is a 'hands in the air and lets all float around' kinda tune, its really beautiful.

Rappers Delight - Dan the Automator

Speaks for itself...... :D

Philosophy is very bad.

A mans wife had recently died. He was distraught, and after months of mourning alone in his new family home, he seeked out mental help for him to get past his depression.
He scoured the internet and eventually got in touch it a psychiatrist named Dr. Winton.
The very next day he went along to the office of Dr Winton with an open mind and very hopeful to get on with his life.

The whole process went as one would expect.
"When was the last time you saw her?"
"How do you feel this last memory effects your grief?"
"What do you think of living in the marital home meant for your new family?" Asked Dr Winton.

The man talked through his problems with the Doctor, and over the course of the session started feeling better.

Then, Dr Winton asked abruptly, "Why is it you bury the dead? Why must they be forced underground away from all those who love them?"
"Well, they carry disease, i suppose"
"That is what we are told, but i don't see any proof. Infact, I believe........"

2 hours later the man emerged from the session ready to start his new life. He found new purpose and was ready to pursue it.

Later that night he was arrested for necrophilia.
In prison, he was raped many times, until he finally killed himself.

The moral is, Sometimes, the professionals are the ones who've got it wrong. Find your own way of gettin about.

story time.

Music is not all we offer the world.

i have decided that once a week i will share with the public, a short story. Either, the best one i've heard all week, or just one i made up.
This story may be in the form of a joke, a fable, a hillari-tale, or just a short story.

This week:

Either live with an open mind, or just stick to what you know...

Confined in the dark, narrow cage of our own making which we take for the whole universe, very few of us can even begin to imagine another dimension of reality.

“Where do you come from?” asked the frog in the well
“From the great ocean,” he replied
“How big is your ocean?”
“It’s gigantic.”
“You mean about a quarter of the size of my well here?”
“Bigger.”
“Bigger? You mean half as big?”
“No, even bigger.”
“It is… as big as this well?”
“There’s no comparison.”
“That’s impossible! I’ve got to see this for myself.”
They set off together. When the frog from the well saw the ocean, it was such a shock that his head just exploded into a pieces.

Its *after* 1 o'clock in the morning: Sunday Six III

As the happy nature of the title of this post suggests, it is a bit late (GMT - 31/05/09) however, I have been completing art coursework.. which has been spanking me like a bitch.

First of all, heres a shout to all our german friends (in Germany) - heres the Dance scene in the UK... :)

Apollo - We Plants Are Happy Plants
My partner in crime got me onto WPAHP about 2 months ago, and their tracks blew me away, with their stunning blend of chilled electro and indie. Anyway, this is probably my favourite track by them ever, so have a listen

Boom Boom Pow - Black Eyed Peas (Mr. GASPAR remix)

This fellow knows when to pick a huge pop hit, and turn it into a big club tune. GASPAR did it in 2008 with 'I kissed a Girl', and here he has done it again, coming out, unlike Chew Fu's remix, giving a totally new feel, with a funky mid-tone riff that would tear through children's brains.

California Love - 2Pac (Big Nasty Remix)
This is such a big tune... the original makes me bop like a loony in a psychiatric ward... and when out doing photography one night, this tune was dropped, so I had to search out what it was. Deadmau5 ha5 al5o done a remix of this track, but it'5 too progre55ive for me.

Poker Face - Lady Gaga (LAZRTag Remix)

I've stumbled my way down the commercial route for this post, but fuck it, the crowd go bonkers for a commercial hit or two that they know in the set.. This again turns a huge pop hit into a club bouncer... As in it will make you bounce, not refuse you entry becuase you are too young, or are dressed like a chav. But chavs arent cool.....

Don't Upset The Rhythm - Noisettes (Kissy Sell Out Remix)
Kissy's remix turns the original quirky track from being a catchy little number into a dirty banger - Great success!!

Finally, From The 'Remix After All' Album I take the track Television Rules the Nation in the Dirty Disco Youth Remix.

Keep the beat Alive y'all

Zoooiiink!

What with the tides flowing and the moonbeams showing, work is no fun and blogging is clearly much more fun. I too am hungry, but alas farewell they shall have to wait.

I have just got my paws onto a new mix by 'Dale Castell', one of the hottest DJs around from the north: Find him on Facebook

There it shows you what how and why he blends the tunes he does, and he does do just that magnificently.

i like it when the bass comes in...

I Want These Jeans =]

music is good.
summer is fucking awesome.
and its all just about kicking off. =]

The Presets - Talk Like That

a fooookin oldie, but realised i've not posted about it yet and it definitely deserves a mention on here. Its classic Presets stuff. Electro-fueled indie, with a catchy as fuck chorus.

Don Diablo & Example - Hooligans (A1 Bassline Remix)

Filthy, Bass-driven, remix that makes you feel oh-so socially unacceptable. Fuckin brilliant stuff.

AC Slater - Hello! (B. Rich Refix)

This song is the whole point of this post... I'm sorry, but my partner in crime DEFINATELY uploaded the wrong remix. i mean i dont mean to show people up like this all the time, but its so damn hard when you're THIS good. Fuckin BASS HEAVY shit.

Röyksopp - Poor Leno (Röyksopp's Istanbul Forever Take)

Great remix of a classic track. made it a lot less chilled techno, and a bit more dancable electro/techno. Really like what they did with it.

Friendly Fires - Paris (Aeroplane Remix Feat. Au Revoir Simone)

Yes, i know i'm about 2 years late with this one, but for some reason i only just listened to the full thing, and found it was actually incredible.

love.

What-the-chunk?? Sunday Six II

Sunday - sunday - sunday - sunday - sunday -some day... six for sunday!

AC Slater - Hello (Heartache Remix)

AC is playing leeds this fine evening, and I am looking very muchos forward to seeing him, should be impressive what with wobbly basslines and fidgety wompage.
This track is the epitomy of his style... great success

Steve Angello & Laidback Luke - Show Me Love (AC Slater Remix)

This track came to the forefront of the dance scene towards the latter end of 2008. The unfortunate use of Radio 1 killed the track a little bit, but this remix is wildly different to the Radio 1 edit. Still sort of faithful, but absolutely HUGE.

Prodigy - Omen (Clockwork Remix)
The Prodigy also are playing Leeds, this time at Leeds Fest .. reasonably excited, and maybe a little too excited. Anyway, a wonky remix of their new track, keeps it faithful, and although slowed down, retains the essence of the original track, although now turned into a nice electro house gem.

Daft Punk - Technologic (Kids at the Bar Remix)

Daft Punk's new album 'Remix After All' is getting boned all over the blogosphere. If you are unsure of what this is, basically lots of blogs got together and picked DJs they felt would remix a Daft Punk track well. The results have been compiled and are available all over the internet now. Unofficial but still OK.
This track is my favourite off the album, keeps the structure of the track similar, but turns an already mucky track to a banger.

Treasure Fingers - Cross the Dancefloor (Curses! Remix)

Curses are having a hugely successful 2oo9, having remixed Bart B More, Djing with him, and across America, Australia and Europe this summer, with a residency in Ibiza this summer.
This remix had been kept fairly quiet, but we at shit taste love to find the rare tracks ayyy??

Laurent Wolf - No Stress (Original Club Mix)
I Don't want to work today, maybe I just want to stay, just take it easy, because theres no stress.....

Lots and lots of love (and ting)

always with yourself/

chilllaaaxxxxx brother.

take a seat.

give yourself some time.

you deserve it.

lean back.

listen to these:

We Vs Death - Pictures From Stanford

Brilliant indie-prog to chill to. Mint drummer, and so well written its insane.

Röyksopp - Poor Leno

Everyone knows it, even if they don't know it yet. Brilliant music to sit back and nod your head to.

Two Door Cinema Club - Something Good Can Work

A very distinct sound which i immediately fell in love with. Its like a chilled out foals. brilliant music.

Sneaky Sound System - It's Not My Problem (Thin White Duke Remix)

Brilliant track not quite as laid back as the others, but if you're in the chillin mood it definitely fits in.

Röyksopp - Dead To The World

The most lullaby track i think i've ever heard. Apparently not for everyone, made my mate cringe, but i think its fuckin beautiful. i've actually fallen asleep to thiis like 5 times.

We Plants Are Happy Plants - Sailing In A Dreamboat

Mint track. Full stop.

I've tried to leave out the obvious ones like In For The Kill Skream remix and Radiohead's "no Suprises"

hope you like.

16.5.09

i'm jus' a kid.

Chiddy chiddy bang bang.

A lot of shit happens in a year.

shit-taste is re-born.

and we got some bangers/.

Chiddy Bang - Kids (ft. MGMT)

This is actually my favourite rap record since Lupe Fiasco's "Go Go Gadget Flow".
And that's fuckin' time.

Superpowerless - Wasted My Time

This guy is actually from Leeds. Which is also my home turf. sick tune. He uses his gameboy to make his songs. Pretty sick stuff.

Mille - Crysteena

This is like Redial except with some crazy 60's bounce influence. Its pretty.

Drop.The.Face - Chaos

Sick electro track with mental vocals over the top.

Bombay Bicycle Club - Always Like This

If you're into indie, and you haven't yet heard this, you're a whore.

Röyksopp - Vision One

Röyksopp recently became well know to the MTV culture with their track "Happy Up Here" which is actually the track i first heard by them (quite naively apparently), but is definately not their best. After finding all their albums and giving each song the time each one deserves, i decided this one was definately a keeper. I have nothing but praise of this band.

The BloodyBeetroots - We Are From Venice (La Serenissima)

The original was completly sick. and then this came out, and i dont think i've even thought about listening to the original since. well appart from just now when i realised i'd not listened to the original and therefore kinda of accidentally thought about listening to the original. SICK TRACK.
